FOCUS
The Joys of Exports Exports are tough these days. From Europe, as the dollar is still weak, they require innovative solutions at every step of the chain : some producers initiate them (as does the Boscarelli estate in Montepulciano, Tuscany), some operators offer their service (as does 2LR when it comes to exporting to China).
Even then, Exporting is easier said than done when it comes to prices, which induces a reflexion on the marketing positionning of the wines as to how much they may differ on the export market from the domestic market.
Evenutally, wines get shipped and bounce at the border, as do now some Argentinian and South African wines, due to the presence of an inocuous, yet antibiotic and forbidden substance called natamycin.
Now, does it not just make the challenge even more appealing ? French wineries seem to think so in the WineAlley Plaza. Check our calls for tenders, maybe submit an offer (this service is entirely free of charge and limited to professional buyers. To become a member, click here).
